New Explorations

In 2024, Leonard started exploring ways to put movement in his artwork using both traditional painting techniques and incorporating interference and iridescent colors. He had experimented with iridescent and interference paints back in the 1990s before starting nearly full-time work as a successful children’s book illustrator. He has always had a passion for creating drama and movement in his art. The iridescent and interference paints he uses create movement in that they change with the light source and/or the point of view. Working with these materials intrigues and challenges him. As an artist, you never stop growing and changing and experimenting. The images below share one view of the latest works. More are coming!
