Howard Street Wharf, San Francisco,1908

Towards the end of the days when Leonard was doing almost exclusively maritime art, he created this masterpiece in the late 1970s. It was carefully researched for historical accuracy. The view point is looking north and you may recognize the Ferry Building in the background.
Of interest: One gallery owner refused to show the painting because one of the two women in the foreground was Asian, walking with a white woman. Needless to say, we had nothing more to do with that gallery!
The original sold to a private collector.
